Greetings from Pastor Lara!
Prior to joining this fellowship in 2007, Billie and I prayed that God would prepare a people and a place for our ministry. We spent a great deal of time looking back at our life experiences: growing up in the great state of Texas; serving abroad in the Army; attending Dallas Theological Seminary; and committing to the service of God’s people at both Golden Gate Missionary Baptist and Northwest Bible Church. Reflecting on these rich and diverse experiences has allowed us to see that God has equipped us with the tools to serve the body here at Judson Baptist Church of Oak Park.
Judson is a very unique church body where people of different races and experiences have intentionally come together to worship and serve the body of Jesus Christ in the Oak Park/Austin communities. We are on a journey, a journey on which every person is passionately, wholeheartedly, and recklessly pursuing full devotion to Christ.
Judson strives to be a place where the hurting can easily connect with life-changing community. We want to help people discover, develop and deploy their gifts for Christ. Here at Judson, everyone has access to teaching that equips and transforms; children are learning about a Savior that loves them; and authentic relationships are being formed.
It is my desire for each person to have a clear understanding of our passion for living lives that reflect Jesus Christ, and to be able to clearly communicate that passion to others.
